What is QLECS
Our purpose: ‘Inspired learning for life starts early’
The Lutheran Church of Australia Queensland District (LCAQD) has supported and operated children’s services for over 50 years. Queensland Lutheran Early Childhood Services (QLECS) is a branch of Lutheran Education Queensland (LEQ) and provides professional governance and accountability, service management and expert knowledge in the specialised field of early childhood services.
QLECS currently oversees 60 services predominantly in Queensland with services also in New South Wales and Victoria. These services cover Family Day Care, Occasional Care, Centre-based Care, Kindergarten, Preschool and Outside School Hours Care. QLECS Services employ over 600 staff and close to 4500 children are cared for and educated in our services each week.
Our Services are usually connected to a Lutheran School, Church or both, allowing families to continue their child’s education in a Christian context.
QLECS has grown from an identified need within our Lutheran sector to provide effective governance, professional accountability, financial management, compliance and excellence within early childhood education and care, operating under the National Quality Framework (NQF).
Partnering with families is essential to the work of QLECS. We understand a family’s need to feel that their child is safe, well-cared for and has the opportunity to learn and develop in an environment based on Christian values and giving children the best start in life.
As a not-for-profit organization, we are focussed on providing best practice programs and environments that support families and children in a child’s earliest years of development.
